Fernlea House Inc is an independent community based organisation that provides a variety of services to people who have been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, and to support those close to them.
Fernlea House's vision is to inspire a positive change of attitude to palliative care in the community.
Fernlea House works in partnerships with other health care organizations to provide holistic care, and strives to improve quality of life.
Services are provided free of charge, however donations are always welcome.
Our Services Included: Day Care Unit, F.E.R.N.S., Memoirs Program, Complementary Therapies, Community Awareness, Loss, Grief & Bereavement.
Services:

The day care unit is open three days a week and staffed by qualified palliative care nurses and trained volunteers. Transport can be arranged.

F.E.R.N.S. or Femlea's Extended Respite and Socialisation Program is an outreach service available weekdays for people in their own homes.

The complementary therapy program is available free of charge for clients of Fernlea House and is provided by Professional Therapists.

The memoirs program is a project where the recording and editing of a persons' memoirs is offered by trained volunteers to clients of the F.E.R.N.S. program.

Community Awareness: Staff and trained volunteers are able to provide education and information to community groups regarding issues in palliative care.

Professional grief, loss and bereavement counselling is available at a place of your choosing.
